Dada is not dead!

The Dada art movement included the invention of ready made art.  Marcel Duchapm famously displayed a urinal in a gallery forcing people to see it as art and named it 'fountain'.  He declared that an artist could raise an every day item usually overlooked except for its functionality to art by selecting the item and giving it meaning.  Through this act, the concept of ready made art was popularized within the Dada movement.

More recently, to pay tribute to the Dada spirit, Arnaud Maggs has created portraits of his Dada mentors.  The images were discovered as 19th century French architecture educational tools and transformed into portraits by Maggs.
